Andrea Aguilar (Estados Unidos)
El País
Andrea Aguilar is a cultural journalist with a special interest in literature. She writes for the Spanish newspaper El País since 2003. She was born in Madrid in 1978, graduated from the University of Kent (Canterbury) in history and political science, and has a masters in arts and culture journalism from the Columbia School of Journalism. Her work has been published in the political weekly El Siglo de Europa and literary magazines such as the The Paris Review, El Malpensante, and Letras Libres.
Arturo Aguilar (México)

Arturo Aguilar is a journalist with experience in print, electronic, online, and interactive media. He is currently a film critic for Rolling Stone México, CinePremiere, and Dixo.com and a media analyst at Ibero 90.9.
He has worked as editor, reviewer, and film, media, and culture columnist in Mexico and abroad. As a university professor he has taught multimedia communication, audiovisual design, the history of film, and documentary film.
Carolina Braga (Brasil)

Carolina Braga has a doctorate in communication and contemporary sociability from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in conjunction with the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, a masters in journalism and modern languages also from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and a postgraduate degree in cinema and pop music critique from the Ramon Llull University (Barcelona). She is a cultural journalist since 2001 and has worked at Guaraní Radio and the Alterosa TV program. Braga currently works as a reporter for the cultural section of Estado de Minas newspaper and has made contributions to Bravo magazine and Correio Braziliense newspaper. She was a correspondent abroad from 2006 to 2008, covering international film festivals such as Cannes (2007 and 2008) and Rotterdam (2007). She authored the thesis La crítica periodística de cine en internet: un dispositivo en transformación.

Dominique Rodríguez (Colombia)

Dominique Rodríguez Dalvard is a social communicator and journalist from the Universidad Javeriana of Bogotá (2000). She is currently editor of Diners magazine. Until 2012 she was the coordinator of the reportage magazine as a member of El Tiempo’s Sunday team. Rodríguez was the culture editor for Cromos magazine until late 2004. The following year she joined the magazine Cambio and from 2006 to 2010 was the culture editor there as well. Under Claudia García, she coordinated the first stage of editorial content for Conexión Colombia’s website, a Semana social project. Together with Esmeralda Triana, she co-authored a chapter of reportages on the organizations that won the Solidarity Awards, granted by Fundación Alejandro Ángel Escobar for its fiftieth-anniversary book. Rodríguez authored the art catalog Obra Viva, edited by the Central Bank, and has contributed to the art magazines and supplements Gatopardo (Mexico), Arte al día (Venezuela), Ñ by Clarin (Argentina), and Boletín Cultural y Bibliográfico, Errata y Arteria (Colombia). In 2005 she participated in the cultural journalism fellowship hosted by the New Journalism Foundation and conducted by master lecturer Héctor Feliciano. She taught art appreciation at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá and made contributions to the curatorship, education, and communication departments of the Museo Nacional de Colombia. Rodríguez also served as a guide at the Botero Museum and was an assistant to journalist Alberto Zalamea for the international and culture journalism degrees at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University.
Rodríguez won the Simón Bolívar journalism award in 2009 for her reportage La mujer invisible, on the work of the Colombian artist Doris Salcedo, published in Gatopardo magazine in 2008.
Ernesto Garratt (Chile)

Ernesto Garratt Viñes (Santiago de Chile, April 18, 1972) is a journalist and Chilean film critic. He has worked at newspapers such as La Tercera and El Mercurio and the magazine Qué Pasa. Garratt currently works as a film critic for El Mercurio‘s Wikén supplement. In 2011 he received the Santiago Film Festival award for his support to Chilean film through media coverage and reviews in local media. Garratt studied journalism at the University of Chile. Aside from his activities as a journalist and film critic, he worked as a screenwriter for the TV series Mira tú, by Aplaplac. Within the field of film reviews and as part of the International FederationofFilm Press, he has also been jury for film festivals, such as those in London, Moscow, and Cannes. As a journalist, he has interviewed myriad international film celebrities, such as Francis Ford Coppola, Clint Eastwood, Juliette Binoche, Pedro Almodóvar, Natalie Portman, Darren Aronofsky, Catherine Deneuve, Harrison Ford, and Woody Allen, among others. In 2012 Garratt published Tardes de Cine, a selection of interviews with film directors along with essays that have been written on them.
Gabor Koves (Hungría)

Gabor Koves’ fondest “professional” memories come from speaking with artists who have made him laugh and think at the same time (though not necessarily in that order).
He feels fortunate to be working for Magyar Narancs, one of the last remaining independent magazines in Hungary.
He also works for the online edition (and appears in a weekly video-series). Although he carries no state medal on his chest, he has a reputation of being a stern film reviewer whose two and a half star reviews have become something of a trademark.
Giselle Massard (Colombia)

Giselle Massard is a social communicator and journalist from Colombia’s Caribbean. She is an “experimedia” artist, always in search of images, characters, and sounds that speak of human affairs. She has collaborated with Radio Universitaria for more than ten years and is currently the director of the Universidad Del Norte’s radio station in Barranquilla. Massard is studying for a masters in development and culture.
Jenny Barchfield (Estados Unidos)

A native of Tucson, Arizona, Jenny is the Rio de Janeiro correspondent for the Associated Press. Before that, she worked as the Fashion and Culture writer for the AP’s Paris bureau and worked for Newsweek in Paris and Madrid. A graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University and El Pais newspaper’s Masters of Journalism, Jenny speaks French, Spanish and Portuguese.
Juan Manuel Granja (Ecuador)

Juan Manuel Granja is a writer and journalist. In 2007 he was awarded for his novella Un ligero temblor en las piernas and the following year published his poetry book Alter online. The FNPI published his reportage Los Tropicales del Caribe as part of a selection of writings by long-form journalists in the book ¡Que viva la fiesta! (2009). In 2011 he won first place in the Caza de Letras contest hosted by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México’s (UNAM) Faculty of Literature. The UNAM’s Faculty of Literature published his book Babel en ascensor y otras (2012). Granja currently manages the blogs Metamorfódromo and Folio Inn.
Luisa Fierro (Colombia)

Luisa Fierro is a literature graduate from the Florida International University. She is certified in Iberoamerican literature by the Universidad de Salamanca and graduated from the Universidad de los Andes in journalism. Fierro has several years of experience as an editor, working with print media, online publications, and independent publications in Colombia and the United States. She has taught long-form journalism and literature at the Universidad del Rosario (Bogotá) and the Miami Dade College (United States). Fierro worked for Semana magazine as the online communities project coordinator and covering local events. She has also published reportages for newspaper El Espectador, such as “Muerte de Perros,” “La Puerta Falsa de Aura Sabogal,” and “El Cementerio de los Judíos.”The last of these was included in Esto no es un dibujo animadom, published by Ediciones Uniandes in 2009. Fierro served as a researcher for Misión de Observación Electoral (MOE) in Colombia’s communications media department. She has worked on community projects for the human rights organization One Miami, in South Florida. She also worked for the Central Bank’s department of culture as a journalist as well as making weekly contributions to the Culture Bulletin covering artistic and cultural activities in Bogotá. Fierro has been editor and music reporter for the Latin website elrocklatino.com and commentator for the radio station La Voz in Miami, Florida. She currently works as a freelance journalist and occasionally as an evaluator for the publishing house Editorial Babilonia, in Bogotá.

The main responsible for the film and music in JL (Jornal de Letras, Artes e Ideias), publisher of Final Cut (the cinema site of JL/Visão). Writer of a novel, an essay about fado music and two plays. Author of broadcast shows in radio and television, as Jukebox, Best of Cinema and Contos Para Pulares. Graduated in Journalism in Universidade Católica (Lisbon), with a post-graduation on Cinema and Pop Music Critics, in Universidad Ramon Llul (Barcelona). Member of FIPRESCI, juri of several film festivals, awarded with José Rodrigues Miguéis Grant (fellowship organized by The Committee of Concerned Journalists, in Washington DC) and with the honor title Amicus Romaniae (from the Romanian Embassy in Portugal).

Samuel Castro is a colombian writer born in Medellín in 1979. Author of the business novel “A la velocidad del byte”, film critic for the newspaper El Colombiano. Santiago Gómez (Colombia)

Santiago Andrés Gómez is a film critic and has been with Kinetoscopio magazine since its beginnings. In 1994 he created Madera Salvaje, a corporation devoted to producing fiction and documentary films. In 1996 he was awarded the Premio Nacional de Video Documental with his film Diario de viaje. Gómez authored novels Madera Salvaje (Ediciones B, 2009) and Todas las huellas. Tres novelas breves (Universidad de Antioquia, 2013), the short story collection Los deberes (Universidad de Antioquia, 2012), and the volume of essays El cine en busca de sentido (Universidad de Antioquia, 2010).
Sebastián Escalón (Colombia)

Sebastián Escalón (Toulouse, 1977) is a French–Salvadoranjournalist residing in Guatemala. Master in Biology of populations and ecosystems and Science communication and journalism from Paris Diderot University. He contributes to the online newspaper Plaza Pública and the French science magazine CNRS, le journal. Escalón has worked on audiovisual projects and authored Siete Gorriones in 2012, a book that narrates the experiences of an FMLN child soldier in El Salvador’s civil war, in the eighties.
