For many small island developing states of the Caribbean, where climate change-related pressures, such as drought and extreme weather, compound geographic, industrial and infrastructural issues—water scarcity is a way of life. At the same time, access to clean water has become a major issue in the Caribbean region, and indeed, all over the world.

In this webinar we will talk about how journalism can better face the coverage of these dilemmas. How a solutions-based, scientifically informed journalism can help, and where are some resources for journalists to start digging into the science and the policy of access to water.

Also, the field of journalism faces a reckoning as it struggles to remain relevant to a global citizenry of increasing diversity and social awakening. And, this should be our motto: “Unheed warnings are the hallmarks of many disasters. We must be prepared with all the background information on water: from geology to physics, from biology to health, from politics to social problems.

This webinar is brought to you by the Coca-Cola System in the Dominican Republic.
