About the Gabo fellowship in cultural journalism
The Gabo fellowship traveled from the 26th of April to the 3rd of May through all the places that inspired the macondian universe of García Marquez: Aracataca, Barranquilla and Cartagena. During that time, 15 journalists from 11 countries explored the relationship between journalism and fiction, under the guidance of four international masters.
This event was organized by the FNPI and the Ministry of Culture of Colombia, with the support of the Cartago Foundation and ProColombia.
The Gabo fellowship is one of the stops of the Caravana de historias, an FNPI initiative that travels through Iberoamerica in 2017 to make known the legacy of its founder Gabriel García Márquez, celebrate the 50 years of its best known work, and to promote an ethical, creative and innovative journalism.
